At Forest Performance, we go beyond generic personal training and help you to move better and live stronger through focused strength training, enhanced mobility, and consistent practice. I spent most of my 20s chasing heavy weights and a specific aesthetic. On the outside, I looked like I was in peak condition; on the inside, I was throwing my back out several times a year. I was stuck in a cycle of pushing for strength and aesthetics while ignoring mobility and recovery left me with a body that was increasingly restricted and in pain.

It took years of frustration to realize that training for looks alone, is often a trap. When I finally shifted my focus toward mobility and performance-based strength training, everything changed. The back pain stopped. My relationship with my body improved. And, as a happy side effect, I actually started looking better with significantly less effort because I was finally moving the way I was built to.

That shift is why I started Forest Performance Coaching. My goal is to help you move better and get stronger without the "intensity at all costs" mentality.

My Approach: Consistency Before Intensity

In an industry often obsessed with quick fixes, extreme workouts and "no pain, no gain" messaging, I advocate for a smarter, more sustainable path. I work with people who are playing the long game—whether you’re training for a 100-mile race, working toward your first pull-up, or simply want the strength to pick up your grandkids without a second thought.

My coaching is designed to meet you where you are today. Whether we’re working together here in Boulder or connecting virtually, we focus on three things:

  • Restoring Range: Addressing the persistent aches and movement restrictions that hold you back.

  • Resilient Strength: Building a body that can handle the demands of your hobbies and your daily life.

  • Genuine Confidence: Shifting the focus from what your body looks like to what it is actually capable of doing.

Life Outside the Gym

I’m a firm believer that the work we do during a session should serve the life you live outside of it. For me, that means staying healthy enough to play Ultimate Frisbee and go on long hikes with my wife and our dogs. I want that same freedom for my clients—whatever your version of "moving well" looks like.

Professional Background

I’ve been coaching for nearly a decade and have spent that time studying the science of movement so you don't have to. I’m an ACE-certified personal trainer and hold specialized certifications and am always looking to learn more.
